Next week, catch PAYETTE’s Landscape Architecture Manager Adam Anderson discuss landscape strategies for healthcare environments and Parke MacDowell will be leading a tour of our Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex at Northeastern University during the fourth annual BSLA Conference on Landscape Architecture on Wednesday, May 22. The all-day conference features a mix of professional workshops and panel discussions around themes of design and planning, horticulture and technology, SITES and the business of practice.
Healing Grounds: Landscape Strategies for Contemporary Healthcare Environments
This session will focus on strategies of embedding nature into healthcare environment as effective exposure to natural elements can improve the healing process for patients.

Site Tour: The Landscape at Northeastern’s Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex
Designers from Northeastern’s Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (2019 BSA Harleston Parker Medal Winner) will lead a panel conversation and site walk of the new landscape and pedestrian bridge connecting Northeastern’s main campus to the south side of the tracks. The project will be partially complete and partially under construction. The tour has been approved to access the construction site to review work in progress on the new pedestrian bridge crossing the tracks. Topics covered include Urban Design, Permitting, Landscape Design, Innovative Stormwater Management, Detailing, Integration with Architecture and structural engineering and maintenance issues.
