Architecture thrives when the people who create it are at their best. PAYETTE values our people and continues looking for new ways to include diversity in our team, as unique minds lead to spontaneous ideas and intangible growth. We are proud to hold an active year-round internship program cultivating the newest talent and dedicated professionals. This summer, we are pleased to host a lively team of interns from as close as our home state, as well as all around the world. Meet them below! Part 3 of 3.
Conor Dean
I am entering my final semester at UMass Lowell before I graduate with a Bachelors in Information Technology. This is my second summer interning with PAYETTE, and the experience has been invaluable for my personal and professional growth. Applying the knowledge I have learned at school in a hands-on environment has given me the confidence and skills to support the growing technological needs of the firm. One thing I especially like about working at PAYETTE is that I feel as though the work I am doing, however indirectly, is working towards a greater goal of improving societal ideals through the buildings we develop.
When I am not at work or in school, you can find me on the water kayak fishing or digging through dusty bins of old records.
Ryan Clark
I am a rising fourth-year student at Boston College studying computer science and finance. I have always been interested in technology and figuring out how the world works, which is why I have known since before college what I wanted to study. During this summer, one of the things I have loved doing is getting a chance to better explore the city of Boston with friends, as it has given me an opportunity to find new restaurants and things to do.
Mari Baker
I am a rising high school senior at Boston Latin School, interning at PAYETTE for the summer through the Boston Private Industry Council. I have always loved crafting and making models, which led me to discover architecture. I hope to study it in college, as it has been a major interest of mine and I have enjoyed learning about the design process at PAYETTE. When I am not spending time with my family or friends, I like painting and listening to music.
Kelly He
I am a Master of Architecture candidate at Columbia GSAPP graduating in 2024, with an undergraduate degree in Adaptive Reuse from RISD. My passion for architecture lies in its power as an experiential innovation intersecting art and science. At PAYETTE, I am grateful for the immersive project experiences working with passionate groups of people. Every week was filled with new learning opportunities on design development, building technology, space strategies and career mentoring. I am also having a great time in the summer of Boston playing beach volleyball, ultimate frisbee, kayaking, crabbing and fishing after work!
