As we head into 2024, it is an opportunity to not only look ahead to everything the new year holds in store, but also a chance to reflect on the past twelve months. We celebrated multiple projects being honored with design awards – Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Children’s Hospital Vertical Expansion, Williams College Wachenheim Science Center, Boston College 245 Beacon Street and Land’s Sake Farm.
Sho-Ping Chin, FAIA, was honored posthumously with the prestigious AIA Edward C. Kemper Award. This recognition reflects Sho-Ping’s enduring impact on healthcare architecture and her inspiring contributions to the design community.
We also had several seminal projects open their doors this year, including Northeastern University’s EXP, the Engineering Design and Innovation Building at Penn State, the Chelsea Veteran’s Home Community Living Center, the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Klarman Building, the University of Pittsburgh Scaife Hall and the Skidmore College Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences. These boldly original and exquisitely crafted buildings are as profoundly humane in their accommodation of vital social needs as they are pioneering in their pursuit of energy and environmental performance.
Happy New Year!
