On Saturday, PAYETTE joined with design and engineering firms from around Boston to participate in the CANstruction 2013 at the BSA Space and Atlantic Wharf. This year’s theme was Movies & Cinema, which resulted in some really fun can sculptures, including our own Flux CANpacitor. After months of planning, and just over 3,000 cans, our version of the time machine from “Back to the Future” can be seen disappearing in a flash of lightening and fire tire marks into the wall of the lobby of 280 Congress Street.
CANstruction will be on view at the BSA Space and Atlantic Wharf through November 1. All canned food used in CANstruction will be donated to the Merrimac Valley Food Bank after de-canstruction. The overall donation count for the whole event was over 79,000 cans to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank!
At Wednesday evening’s Canstruction Gala, awards were presented for this year’s winners. View the winners online, here. Despite our team not taking home any awards for our Flux CANpacitor, we didn’t leave empty handed. Both Miep Keller and Kacey Miklaszewski hit it big with winning items in the raffle and the silent auction last night.
