PAYETTE was well represented at the 33rd J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge as nine PAYETTE runners competed in the annual event. Our 2016 team ran the 3.5 mile course in a sold-out crowd of 9,475 runners and walkers from 324 companies in Boston. The Boston course starts and finishes in the Commons, winding through Kenmore Square and Back-Bay. Our runners enjoyed the scenery, enthusiastic atmosphere and the refreshing mid-60 degree evening weather. This year J.P. Morgan will make a donation on behalf of all participants to City Year, which unites young leaders to serve as tutors, mentors and role models to students in the Boston area.
Keeping with tradition, PAYETTE’s Young Designers Core held an internal pancake and waffle breakfast fundraiser prior to the race with proceeds helping to offset entry fee costs for the PAYETTE Corporate Challenge Team. The PAYETTE runners prepared and cooked the breakfast; flipping stacks of flap-jacks and topping plenty of Belgium waffles for everyone to enjoy. The firm’s healthy appetite for pancakes and waffles raised enough money to reimburse our runners for half of this year’s entry fee.
