Since joining Payette in 2013, DJ has been involved in the design of diverse scales of projects including the Chelsea Soldier’s Home, the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Avigan Lab, the Tufts Science and Engineering Complex, the Cummings Veterinary Medical Center Addition & Renovation, the Don & Cathy Jacobs Science Building, the University of Pittsburgh Scaife Hall Addition Concept Study and a series of Boston College IISS Studies. DJ focuses on delivering strategic ideas and designs to create value by integrating the contexts of existing building, campus, urban fabric and landscape. He holds a Masters of Architecture in Urban Design from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a B.Arch from the Rhode Island of School of Design.
The construction of full-scale mock-ups for undertaking medical simulations is an essential part of our design process.
Our in-house fabrication team, equipped with 3D printers, woodworking tools and CNC milling equipment, facilitates the creation of full-scale mock-ups of complex clinical spaces. We have found that mock-ups of spaces such as patient and operating rooms are invaluable for staff, leadership and other stakeholders to understand all aspects of the space beyond what is just shown in two-dimensional documents.
Visit our most recent blog for more info on our healthcare mockup design process (link in bio!).
