Gina joined Payette as an Interior Designer in 2014 after earning a Master of Arts in Interior Architecture at New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University. She also holds BS and M. Eng. degrees in Engineering Physics from Cornell University and previously had a 12-year stint as an optical engineer in the aerospace industry. As a past denizen of laboratory environments and buildings for the physical sciences, she is eager to address the design challenges inherent to these spaces. Gina left Payette in 2015 to pursue other opportunities.
A peek behind the curtain of designing the `Geodes` at Penn State West 2:
Our team created a series of custom millwork design huddle spaces populated in the top floor open maker space, which are designed to accommodate small-group meetings, rest and meditation, filming and recording. The materiality of the Geodes echoes the color strategy, homogenous from the outside, with the interior of each Geode in a different pop-up color, made out of painted cork tiles and fabric wrapped panels.
