Jim joined Payette in 1979, was named partner in 1986, and succeeded Tom as President in 1998, stepping down in 2014. He remains a partner at the firm. Jim gained early recognition as Project Architect for the world-renowned Lewis Thomas Laboratory at Princeton and is passionate about seeking innovative solutions beyond the immediate problem. Jim, who holds B.S., B.Arch. and MBA degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, was elevated to FAIA in 2009 in recognition of his achievements in design.
