Luke joined Payette in 2017 as an Architect. He received his Master of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, where his design passion for performance—both human and genuine sustainability—took off. Prior to joining Payette, he worked at Eisenman Architects, Flad Architects and Perkins+Will. During this time, he helped with the research and design of innovative laboratories ranging from a robotic fully-automated lab researching the effects of climate change for a national laboratory to a very large Middle Eastern multidisciplinary national R&D facility. He presented on the importance of Life Cycle Assessments and the tools to perform them at the International Institute of Sustainable Laboratories conference and on his research started in his thesis exploring a potential connection between acoustics and the psychological concept of flow--when one is so mentally immersed within his or her current activity that the boundary between user and environment disappears—at the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture conference. Luke is currently working on the University of Connecticut STEM facility programming, planning and design.
