Miep joined Payette in 2008 following her graduation from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Architecture. Since joining the firm she worked on the Harvard Art Museums project with Renzo Piano Building Workshop for 5 years, became a licensed Architect, and is now working on a renovation at Columbia University for the Institute for Data Science and Engineering (IDSE). Her work on the AIA Upjohn Grant Report on the Thermal Performances of Facades has expanded her passion for exterior wall strategy. Miep is a native of the Netherlands and loves traveling, playing tennis, all art/craft projects and especially loves going on multi-day hikes.
The Young Designers Core (YDC) was established at Payette 25 years ago. Today, it remains a vibrant force within our office, energizing our culture through conversations on design, practice, and community.
Led by Alexandra Barnes and Meredith Hutto, YDC enriches our practice in countless ways. The group is organized into eight subcommittees dedicated to design cultivation, construction tours, industry outreach, sports, event planning, milestones and detail dives—each fostering connection, curiosity, and growth across the firm.
