The AIA Committee on Design celebrates the best in contemporary architecture and curates conversations about the many ways buildings and spaces can excel in design quality while being exemplary in their support for the AIA’s Framework of Excellence. At the AIA Conference on Architecture 2022 in Chicago, PAYETTE was invited to speak about our practice and the ways in which our recent Honor Award projects successfully engage the challenges of the built environment. The discussion was hosted by Takashi Yanai, FAIA and moderated by Craig Brandt, FAIA.
Kevin Sullivan, Andrea Love, Susan Blomquist and Parke MacDowell organized their presentation along four themes: Public Health, Urban Design, Social Engagement and Climate Action. These themes wove through an assortment of our recently completed projects as well as work currently in construction. The conversation highlighted the breadth and intensity of our design process with a focus on the studio culture that underpins this work – especially the role of in-house Building Science and Fabrication.
At PAYETTE, we thrive to create inspired architecture with an enormous impact on society. We were fortunate to receive 3 national 2021 American Institute of Architects Honor Awards, the highest honor the AIA can bestow upon a project and we were delighted to learn recently that we were awarded 2 additional national awards in 2022.
