On November 27, Payette Director of Creative Engagement Karen Robichaud will be leading an AIGA Workshop: Finding Your Superpower at our Payette office. The interactive workshop will help clarify your goals, find your superpower and set your path for the future.

Finding Your Superpower
Determining your strengths and weaknesses is an integral part of professional development, particularly as creatives. The path to success in various design disciplines isn’t always linear, which can be freeing, exciting, and also intimidating! After all, if you don’t know where you’re strongest, you may have trouble aligning your work with your best skills and may even miss the boat on developing essentials skills for the future. Among our strengths and weaknesses, we all have some dominant gift – our superpower. In this interactive workshop, participants will work through a series of exercises and to help each person discover and strengthen their superpower.
The workshop will be led by Karen Robichaud, the Director of Creative Engagement at Payette. Karen’s work has taken her from a degree in English Literature and Theatre Arts to an in-house graphic designer at an arts non-profit and an architecture firm. From there, Karen leveraged her creative and strategic approach to graphic design and communications to carve out a unique path building a culture of communication within an architecture firm.

Northeastern EXP features an organic pinwheel design, shaping research and classroom neighborhoods with shared community spaces radiating from the core to define each area. The building façade was tuned to achieve a 78% reduction in peak solar heat gain and a 62% reduction in cumulative solar radiation leading to energy use reductions and reduced mechanical system sizing. The use of stainless steel further leads to an embodied carbon reduction of almost one million tons when compared to aluminum while the natural stainless surface reflects light in a natural and warm tone giving the building an inherent energy.
