Attending the Tradeline: Facility Strategies for Academic Medicine and Allied Health 2014 next month? We’ll be discussing our recently completed project at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center; “A hybrid surgical CT/MRI imaging suite for humans and animal research: first of its kind.”
The new Center for Surgical Innovation at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center performed its first intra-operative imaging procedure this past February. A presentation in 2011 focused primarily on planning and design challenges and opportunities. Four years later, close collaboration continued among key stakeholders through construction and final calibrations led to a major milestone for true translational science: the realization of a hybrid surgical suite with dual MRI and CT access via a continuous overhead rail used for research on both human and animal subjects. OR#2 will also add a single plane ZEEGO angiography; a decision made upon completion of construction.
