Last night we celebrated the 4th Annual BSA Design Awards Gala at the InterContinental Hotel. With five projects winning awards, 20 PAYETTE people attended the event.
Throughout the evening we heard from the 2015 BSA President Tim Love AIA, learned about the design process for the Hobson sculptures and learned about the new direction and goals for the BSA Foundation. The Hobson sculptures are given to all the honor award winners in their respective categories. This year they were designed by students from MassArt.
PAYETTE was fortunate to celebrate five awards with our clients and consultants last night. Both the Mandell Building at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Center for Surgical Innovation at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center received Citations in the Healthcare Facilities Design awards, while Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Children’s Hospital received an Award in the same program. Additionally, the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Complex earned an Award for Design Excellence and the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University earned an honor award for Design Excellence. The jury highlighted the quiet excellence of the building and the way the design team broke down the mass with grace. Furthermore, the jury comments mentioned the thoughtful materiality and the seamless connection to the outside. Congratulations to all the winners last night! Here’s to another year of excellent design.
