In 2012 we conducted an Internal Office Survey, which revealed a large majority of our employees felt that the platform at one end of the office was not only underutilized but there is a high need for supplementary breakout spaces. Motivated by the desire to address a wide range of comments from the survey, we entered multiple schemes in the Allsteel & Union Office’s ‘Fall in Love’ contest. In addition to the winning Invite scheme featured last week, PAYETTE submitted two alternate PAYETTE schemes: Provoke and Activate. The two schemes use different pieces from the Gather line, and one scheme – Activate focuses on our Wilson Practice Room rather than the elevated platform.
The Provoke scheme features the same elevated platform space previously seen in the Invite scheme. With this entry our team created several soft seating spaces to accommodate one or multiple people. The View furniture piece not only acts as a room divider but also adds the possibility for incorporating a flat screen to review presentations or review documents electronically.
The Activate scheme draws from the strong energy in our firm. This scheme features the Wilson Practice room, our premier firm-wide gathering space. The range of activities in this room is vast – from presentations, to ping-pong tournaments, to a 100+ person Thanksgiving dinner. One of our favorite elements of the Activate scheme is that it utilizes the Rise furniture pieces in a logical and entertaining approach.
