We are pleased to announce three projects have been honored with a 2024 AIA Education Facility Design Award, which celebrates state-of-the-art learning environments.
Northeastern University
Northeastern University’s EXP provides 357,000 GSF over 8 stories of science and engineering research space, with programmatic focus on science and engineering that builds on the University’s areas of excellence in cyber security, robotics and health. Spaces include robotics-high bay, makerspace, classrooms and NU’s entire chemistry teaching program.
CAPE COD COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The ambitious goals for the Frank and Maureen Wilkens Science and Engineering Center led the team to make bold design decisions and take risks to deliver a transformative, net zero project. The one and a half-story building accommodates modern, flexible STEM teaching laboratories to support a variety of pedagogies.
The University of Connecticut
The Science 1 Research Center is a signature centerpiece of Next Generation Connecticut (NextGen CT), a $1.5B state initiative launched in 2014 aimed at expanding educational opportunities research, and innovation in STEM disciplines at the University while also helping to build Connecticut’s future workforce, create jobs and invigorate the state’s economy.
Congratulations to our clients, collaborators and project teams on these achievements!
