Last week, WCVB’s Chronicle aired a segment featuring “You are Here: Wendy’ Welcome to the ED”, a project we worked on with Wendy, her family and MGHfC throughout 2016. After several years of complex medical care as patient at MGHfC, Wendy realized she could use her experience to help other families facing an Emergency Department visit. Drawing inspiration from her experience, Wendy and PAYETTE worked together to develop the nine-minute animated video which is a cartoon hospital guidebook that will be shown to patients in the MGHfC’s emergency department with the aim of alleviating patient stress.
Stuart Baur, who knew Wendy and her family, reached out to colleagues here at PAYETTE, and more than 20 people stepped up to volunteer more than 1,500 hours over 10 months to bring Wendy’s story to life.
