We are pleased to announce that the Duke University Environment Hall: Nicholas School of the Environment building was recently awarded the top prize in the Green Project category by ENR Southeast magazine. Environment Hall, currently pursuing LEED Platinum certification, features a green roof, solar hot water and photovoltaic systems, gray- and rainwater recycling for toilets and irrigation, natural lighting and a chilled beam system for air conditioning. Lend Lease, the construction manager for the project, made significant efforts to minimize the environmental impact of the construction process, including the sourcing of regional materials and the diversion of construction and demolition waste from landfill.
We would like to thank Lend Lease for submitting the project. Read the full list of winners here.
