We are thrilled to announce we have been selected by Northeastern University to begin the planning and design of Phase II of the Northeastern academic precinct. We recently completed the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex in 2017, and this second 220,000 GSF building will provide additional engineering research space, makerspace and active learning with high-bay robotics research space for the University.
With limited room for growth on the main campus, the ISEC is located in a 660,000 SF academic precinct across the Amtrak/MBTA rail lines. A sloping landscape leads to an accessible path across the train tracks with a pedestrian bridge that flows into the core campus.
The Phase I ISEC building, completed in 2017, is rotated to align with this path, negotiate the slope and invite student traffic through an atrium scaled to serve as the new student hub for an expanded campus. The pedestrian connection (PedX) is slated for completion in 2018.
We look forward to working with Northeastern University on the next stage of the precinct, which activates the Columbus Ave side of campus and provides the University with cutting-edge research facilities.
We spent a special evening celebrating the opening of Land`s Sake Farmstand. The evening included pick-your own flowers, a bluegrass band, farm-grown veggies and a project very dear to us!
