Seventhwave is a collective of sustainability-minded experts that, among many other things, creates programs and holds events for design professionals to promote energy efficient practices. On October 5, Seventhwave is partnering with our own Director of Building Science Andrea Love for an event in Chicago, IL titled Bridge the divide: envelope and HVAC design integration.
The event, geared towards architects, developers, and building owners among others, is an opportunity to discuss how to effectively leverage building science throughout the architectural design process to achieve long-lasting, healthy, high-performance buildings. The design of a building’s exterior envelope affects performance from day one and often remains unaltered throughout the building’s life. When it comes to energy efficiency and occupant comfort, the envelope arguably has the greatest impact. Optimized envelope designs create the opportunity for simplified and more efficient HVAC systems, and balance first costs.
