Meet our Interns: Part 2

The soul of our practice resides in its people, and we are always looking for ways to cultivate emerging talent and professionals. We really enjoy our active internship program that brings multiple interns to join our team throughout the year for typically a semester at time. Today, we wanted to introduce some of our interns working alongside us this summer.

Growing up in Shanghai, I was (and still am) fascinated by the way built environments shape urban identity. Thinking back, it most likely contributed to my decision to pursue a B.A. in Growth and Structure of Cities at Bryn Mawr College. After undergrad, I spent some time exploring other fields, and ended up in Architecture. I will be going into my third year of the M.Arch I program at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. In my free time, I like to shoot some hoops (poorly), kick some bags and over/under water my plants.

I am from Melbourne, Australia and will be entering into the final year of my B. Arch at Carnegie Mellon University this fall. I’ve always been interested in how the built environments of different places can adapt to different climates and cultures which led me to study architecture. In my free time I love to travel, watch wildlife documentaries and cook .

I am currently working towards my Master in Design Studies at Harvard University Graduate School of Design with a concentration on Energy and Environments. Currently I am working in PAYETTE’s Building Science group, aiming to delve deeper into building simulation and further pursue my passion for a more sustainable built environment. I like kayaking and running in my free time.

 
I am from Ellicott City, Maryland and am a rising 4th year B. Arch student at Cornell University. I am especially interested in environmental analysis / simulation and its application in design; I’ve been working with Dr. Timur Dogan on developing a new daylighting performance metric for residential architecture and testing its application in both existing and future projects. It’s hard to imagine a life outside of the realms of architecture, but when there is free time, I love to do anything music-related – whether it be listening to music from across eras and cultures, playing the piano (somewhat poorly), or singing (quite poorly). I also look forward to exploring Boston in depth this summer – not only visiting so-called “landmark” buildings, but experiencing the urban fabric of the city as well!
