We are honored that the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex at Northeastern University is one of the finalists for the Boston Society of Architects/AIA (BSA) Harleston Parker Medal. This annual award seeks to recognize “the single most beautiful building or other structure” built in the metropolitan Boston area.
Each year a jury selects one building to receive this honor. In addition, the BSA opens the vote to the public. The People’s Choice vote is now open! Check it out and cast your vote. Visit the buildings for yourselves or stop by the BSA Space and check out the exhibit showcasing the finalists which includes model replicas of each project.
The Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) launches Northeastern University’s long-term goal of linking its Huntington Avenue Campus with a new academic precinct along Columbus Avenue, connecting the Fenway and Roxbury neighborhoods of Boston. A new pedestrian bridge—PedX—spans the intervening MBTA and Amtrak rail lines, leading students to the ISEC’s six-story atrium, a new hub for the expanded campus.
The winner for both awards will be announced at the 8th BSA Design Awards Gala on Thursday, January 17, 2019.
