The soul of our practice resides in its people, and we are always looking for ways to cultivate emerging talent and professionals. We really enjoy our active internship program that brings multiple interns to join our team throughout the year for typically a semester at time. Today, we wanted to introduce some of our interns working alongside us this summer.
I completed my undergraduate studies in architecture at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a 9 month study abroad in Barcelona. I am currently entering the last year of my Masters of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis. I have always wanted to pursue architecture since I was very young. My parents took me to visit many of Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings around Illinois which inspired me to choose this career path. In my free time, I enjoy playing music, cooking, traveling and binging Netflix.
I am a senior at Endicott College in Beverly, MA, where I study in the Interior Design / Interior Architecture program. Growing up, I found inspiration within the built environment. I noticed the way individuals experienced the space around them and how they interacted with it and I became fascinated by how specific design elements directly impacted the space and its users. I began to notice how color, form and scale played a role. As an interior design student, I strive to push boundaries and experiment with these design elements. I am continuously inspired by innovative material use and experiential design. In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, paddle boarding and scuba diving. I grew up in Westerly, RI, so the ocean has always been an integral part of my life. I also love to travel, watch hockey, find new coffee shops and read.
I completed my undergraduate study at Southeastern University in Nanjing, China. In my undergrad thesis, I explored the relationship between space, materials and media. I’m now studying Landscape Architecture at RISD. I had two wonderful studios about phenomenon and ecology. One cool thing about RISD is that I could take courses in the landscape architecture department, as well as in other departments like digital media. While at RISD, I’ve taken courses about computation and sound editing to continue my exploration about media and space in addition to my program-specific classes. In my free time, I like watching movies and reading sci-fi novels.
I am a third-year architecture student from Northeastern University. I am on co-op here at PAYETTE, so I will be working through December. I originally enrolled at Northeastern as a finance major, and later doubled in architecture, however, last year I decided to fully commit to architecture as my major, and pursue a minor in business management. I love the tangible aspect of architecture and really enjoy the model building component in studio. I am from Upstate New York and grew up around my family’s construction company, so I realize architecture was not that far off. In my free time, I am an avid “crossfitter” and a big foodie so I am always looking for new places to eat around Boston.
I grew up an hour outside of Toronto in a small Latino Community. I go to Carnegie Mellon where I am in the Bachelor of Architecture program. I knew I wanted to be an architect early in high school, leading me to spend the summer between my sophomore and junior years studying Architecture at Cornell. Outside the classroom, I love hiking, kayaking and spending time outside. Last summer, I traveled throughout Europe, where I spent half of my time exploring and sketching the architecture I have admired in school, and the other half hiking in the Swiss Alps.
