Coming this Fall: PAYETTE Exhibit at Roger Williams University

PAYETTE is honored to be selected for an exhibition in Fall 2019 at the Roger Williams University’s School of Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation, which will be accompanied by a lecture by PAYETTE Principal Leon Drachman.

Since the Architecture program began in 1982, Roger Williams University’s School of Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation has offered a prestigious Event Series featuring renowned architects such as Snøhetta, Touloukian Touloukian and Félix Candela in recent years. For over 25 years, this important series has provided students, faculty and the greater RWU community with an opportunity to interact with and be inspired by accomplished speakers and exhibitors from the fields of architecture, art and architectural history and historic preservation.

PAYETTE is a collective of designers driven to create boldly original buildings for science and healthcare that are as profoundly humane in their accommodation of needs as they are pioneering in their pursuit of environmental performance. Our value of fusion of design and performance and belief that beautiful buildings perform beautifully, led to our firm being recognized by the AIA with the Architecture Firm of the Year Award and receiving four AIA COTE Top Ten honors in the past four years, including two this past year.

Our exhibition will showcase our design process of crafting and thinking about architecture through drawings, models and finished photography. By exposing and sharing the ways in which spaces are designed from concept to execution, exhibitors will see how our projects integrate concepts of embedded nature, tamed complexity and high performance design with design excellence, as we believe beautiful buildings perform beautifully.

In addition to our exhibit, be sure to check out Leon Drachman’s lecture at Roger Williams University of October 23, 2019. Leon joined PAYETTE as a Designer in 1998, and became a Partner in 2008. This period coincided with the expansion and transformation of the firm into a national leader in design, culminating with the recent 2019 AIA Architecture Firm Award.
