The open source Glazing and Winter Comfort Tool, developed by PAYETTE’s Building Science Group, evaluates thermal comfort. Because building operations comprise a significant part of any client’s budget, and sustainability and carbon reduction are also prime concerns, maximizing building operational efficiency makes for a two-fold win. The article also discusses tools developed by our Space Strategies Group that synthesize information and give it meaning, establishing clear strategies for master plans and projects that link analysis to design solutions.
