The soul of our practice resides in its people, and we are always looking for ways to cultivate emerging talent and professionals; we enjoy an active internship program year-round. This summer, our office is filled with a lively cohort of talented interns from both nearby and all around the world. Meet them below! Part 1 of 3.
Sihui (Iris) Chen
I will be graduating from the Harvard GSD in 2023. I was interested in both Science and Arts back to my high school days so I thought architecture would be a good combination of both. For me, I am always fascinated by the fact that architecture holds the potential to synthesize both subjective expressions and objective heritage. And it is, indeed, capable of affecting individuals’ daily routines as well as the environments’ development. I like watching movies a lot. The bold imaginary scenes from sci-fi movies sometimes provide inspiration to my designs.
Conor Dean
I am a third-year student at UMass Lowell studying Information Technology. When I started college, I was a Wildlife Ecology major because I love learning about animals and their environments but decided to make the switch to IT as I believe it will set me up better for my future. I have always enjoyed working with technology as well as helping others to solve their problems. In my free time, I enjoy playing and making music as well as visiting record stores.
Thomas Delahouliere
I just finished the second year of my M.Arch I at the Harvard GSD. My love for architecture started with the Sims 2, but nowadays, my main interest lies in the design of pleasant spaces—with special attention to daylighting. Outside of architecture, I enjoy biking around the city, having a cool beer with friends and catching up on my favorite shows.
Siyue Fan
I am a third-year student at the Harvard Graduate School of Design in pursuit of my joint master’s degree of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. I am passionate about reimagining the common perception of spaces and new spatial possibilities by placing people’s experiences at the core. Outside of architecture, I also enjoy cooking, cooking and more cooking!
James Foye
I am a senior majoring in Computer Networking at Wentworth Institute of Technology, graduating in August of this year. I was drawn to networking because I have always been interested by technology and when exploring the different fields I could enter, I was fascinated by how the infrastructure behind computer communications works. It is extremely integral to the modern world with how reliant we are on digital communications for just about everything. Working for the Help Desk at PAYETTE has been a great experience for me, with both the work I am doing and the welcoming feeling that the people at PAYETTE give me. Outside of school and work, I love to get lost in discovering new music to listen to or new movies to watch. They are both great mediums for art and I think they are very easy to connect with other people over.
