Drawing in the third dimension: what does it mean? What does it look like? Today we’ve rounded up some of our 3D renderings. Drawing in the third dimension is an important component of how we represent our work and our ideas to our clients and colleagues.
Today we’re looking at images of the new courtyard under construction at Boston Children’s Hospital for bone marrow transplant patients and their families. As part of the design process, the 3D images were generated to communicate the concepts and experiences to the client, nursing and doctor staff. Beginning with base AutoCAD drawing files, 3D models were developed through Sketch Up and the final images rendered with 3ds Max and post processed with Adobe Photoshop. Through this process the design team and client used the images for further development of artwork and seek and find experiences for the patients.
