Our project at Northeastern University, the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB) was recently the subject of two articles about the growing interest in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) centered buildings on university campuses. News @ Northeastern reported on the building and its intended impact on the university’s community (Northeastern to build state-of-the-art science and engineering complex) and The Boston Globe covered the growth at Boston universities in the area of science and engineering buildings (Science, engineering center is latest Northeastern project).
We prepared two “fly-through” animations of the design shared earlier this fall at Northeastern’s “State of the University” event.
The new complex will provide research and educational space and will connect two distinct sections of the campus with a unique pedestrian bridge over the MBTA Orange Line, commuter rail and Amtrak tracks. Preview the experience of the pedestrian bridge:

The interior of the building will feature a six-story atrium with a spiral staircase, providing visual connections and placing the teaching and research within the laboratories on display. Preview the experience of the atrium:
