The City of Boston recently revised CAL133, a fire code dealing with upholstered furniture. Now, CAL133 does not apply to business or mercantile occupancies if they are fully sprinkled and protects, even if they have residential occupancy in upper floors. Assembly use groups in a business use group must comply with CAL133.
To learn more about the revised code, the City of Boston has provided a detailed document, Regulation of Upholstered Furniture: BFD IX-10.
