Over the next several weeks the PAYETTE interiors department will share interiors-related inspiration. Each day we target a specific interiors-related topic and share it via Twitter using the hashtag #interiors. At the end of each week we’ll collect the links here. We hope you’ll find some inspiration, new ideas and great new sources. And we hope you’ll share your great interior moments with us.
Monday, 3/2: The Institute of Human-Centered Design (Gina Mosca)
Located right here in Boston, the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD) is an invaluable resource for designers who seek to craft spaces that are universally accessible to all. Universal Design philosophies and tenants go far beyond the narrow “rule book” approach that many designers can fall prey to in their adherence to the ADA. Instead, Universal Design takes a holistic aim making all design more usable, comfortable, and appealing to all ages, abilities, and body types … true inclusive design.
Tuesday, 3/3: Experimental Work Landscape (Amber Ghory, IIDA, LEED AP)
Check out this neat “experimental work landscape” office developed by RAAF and Barbara Visser in response to medical research that suggests that too much sitting is bad for your health.”
Wednesday, 3/4: Versatile Wall-Mounted Desks (Erin Polansky, IIDA, LEED AP)
I love this wall desk by Nordic Appeal. It’s so cool and is incredibly versatile – from desktop uses to wall mounting. Maybe one day this could even replace the unsightly wall-mounted computers often found in clinical and research environments.
Thursday, 3/5: LYNNEL Art to Form (Amanda Holmen, MSLIS)
We recently hosted a rep from LYNNEL Art to Form for a “Meet the Material” session in our office and I thought the different applications of the artwork, whether more traditional wall or glass features or hanging pendants, were great ways to introduce colors into a project.
Friday, 3/6: Buzzispace Footprints (Mary Gallagher, IIDA, LEED AP)

Award-winning line of products from Buzzispace: new footprints that create privacy in a shared workspace.
