A collective of over 160 inspired individuals, we are passionate about the intersection of high design and high technology. It is through our firm’s collaborative efforts that we have established a practice of innovation and invention that pushes programmatic, sustainability and design boundaries. With great pleasure we announce the advancement of 13 staff members. We’ll feature the promoted staff of the next few days. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating their achievements. Today we recognize three of our new Associates.
Alison Laas, AIA, LEED AP
Promoted to Associate
Alison joined PAYETTE after completing her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2007. Since then she has focused her efforts on numerous lab and healthcare projects within the practice. Alison has been a key member on several Aga Khan University master planning and building projects in Karachi, Nairobi and Dar Es Salaam. Most recently, she played a significant role in the Fifth XiangYa Hospital design competition team, managing the medical planning team and working on many facets of the project. Alison is currently an instructor in the Comprehensive Studio at Northeastern University, and has taught Foundation Studios at the Boston Architectural College.
Christina Marsh, AIA, LEED AP
Promoted to Associate
Christina joined PAYETTE in 2013 with over 12 years of architecture practice in California and a broad range of project experience with various public and educational buildings that engage a larger community. Since her arrival at PAYETTE, Christina has been integral in leading design and coordination efforts of several institutional projects, including multiple renovations at Cornell University. She has also served as a studio mentor, emphasizing the importance of team building. Christina brings many years of college and graduate level architecture teaching experience; her current research focuses on investigating sustainability for new conceptual design agendas. Christina received her Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from MIT.
Rishi Nandi, AIA, LEED AP
Promoted to Associate
Rishi originally joined the firm in 2004 and contributed to projects such as MIT PDSI, as well as the Harvard Art Museums expansion and renovation with Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Since Rishi’s 2013 return to PAYETTE, he has been a critical team member of the Northeastern University Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex, working closely with the owner, contractor and consultants to make the complex project a reality. Rishi has shared his expertise at various conferences, such as ArchitectureBoston Expo (ABX), I2SL and the Urban Land Institute. Rishi is an active member of his community, sitting on a resiliency and energy task force in his home town. Within the firm, Rishi is co-leading a Parametrics Group focused on leveraging available software to help better inform the architectural design and documentation process. Rishi graduated with his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse in 2000.
