Next month PAYETTE’s Andrea Love and Megan van der Linde will present at the 2015 Healthcare Design Conference.
Session: Natural Ventilation of Patient Wards: Challenges and Opportunities
Presentation:
Tuesday, November 17, 2015 | 1:15pm-2:15pm
Using natural ventilation for cooling and ventilation can lead to energy savings, improved indoor air quality and well-being, and building resiliency, among other benefits. While naturally ventilated wards are common in Europe, in the U.S., this passive cooling strategy is rarely used. This session will outline the impact on potential energy savings associated with using natural ventilation associated to code compliance, climate region, and window geometry. Presenters will summarize the results of a survey distributed amongst U.S. leaders in healthcare, intended to quantify the most critical challenges that are stopping natural ventilation from being used.
