On October 20th, over 1,500 people from the New England design industry gathered for the 18th annual IIDA New England fashion Show, where this year’s theme was Coutourism.
The fashion show is an annual tradition, the first of its kind in the country and, arguably, one of the finest displays of creative genius. Teams use building materials to create one of a kind pieces that rival anything that you would see at fashion week. Our entry, “The Constant Flicker”, sought to take the audience not only to a place, New York City, but to a time, the 1920s, where fashion was king, opulence ruled and New York was the center of the universe.
Be transported through time and place to New York City during the Jazz age. Inspired by the era that brought us the Chrysler Building, Duke Ellington and Jay Gatsby, The Constant Flicker provokes a carefree nostalgia for a time when speakeasies in New York overflowed with music, fashion and opulence.
Our PAYETTE team along with our industry partner, Available Light, was elated to win “Best Interpretation of Theme”, and we thank our sponsors: Mayer Fabrics, Milliken Carpet and Surface Materials for their amazing products and support. For more information and photos, go to www.iidane.org.
