Curious about Design Museum Boston’s Design for Dining installations around the city? The Design Museum has organized walking tours of the table vignettes installed in seven different Downtown Crossing restaurants.
These installations, created through a pairing of architecture firms with the restaurants, explore various aspects of the dining experience and of the restaurants and neighborhoods into which they are installed. Each walking tour will feature four of the seven dining vignettes and include samplings of the menu and specialty cocktails while conversing with the design teams. The walking tours are limited to one night only, Thursday July 23.
PAYETTE is looking forward to discussing our design and fabrication process with tour guests at The Merchant. As a preview of what we’ll be discussing at the table tour, take a look at this time-lapse video of the assembly process.
Given our design exploration of the multiple scales of social engagement at the table, it is exciting to have this event in the front window of The Merchant. We hope to see you on the 23rd!
