Moved by the possible demise of cultural organizations affected by the event of September 11, cultureNOW has been mapping and collecting data of ‘public art,’ which the organization defines as “the art that surrounds us that we see everyday.” They collect information spaces open to the public and include artists, architects and others. The project includes images, podcasts, tour information – all of which is accessible through the website or the mobile app. This diverse tool offers insights into parks, schools, museums, local art projects and more. Connected to google maps, this is a resource that can be used in real-time while exploring a new city or neighborhood. Because of its multi-media offerings, cultureNOW provides access to the most robust and public database of art, architecture and history.
PAYETTE recently contributed 20 projects to the database, including images and podcasts with firm leaders discussing each project. Learn more about the PAYETTE projects included on the cultureNOW website and explore the rich variety of information available.
