Yesterday, we sat down together for our first PAYETTE Thanksgiving dinner in 2 years at our office in the Wilson Practice Room. It was wonderful to see everyone together smiling and laughing at one of our most favorite annual events. This year, we are especially thankful for these activities that bring us together.
The last two years have reinforced the importance of community and connections. In 2021 we returned to the office with vigor, with the majority of PAYETTE People working at least three days a week in person. We have hosted 10 Virginia Tech Students for their fall semester in our office while teaching Design Studio, Professional Practice and a Building Fabrication course. Working with the students has been a blast and has provided a much-needed shot of adrenaline, just when we needed it the most. PAYETTE is back and we are thankful for it!
Who knows what 2022 will bring, but what we do know is that we are thankful for the intimate sense of community that we share with our clients, our family at home and our firm family at PAYETTE. We gather strength and courage from these relationships, but mostly happiness, especially when we can be together.
