PAYETTE Director of Creative Engagement Karen Robichaud was recently interviewed for the Fashionably Kate & Co. podcast, “In Her Own Words.” Produced by Kate Andrews, a former television news producer and TV host based in Boston, the podcast focuses on owning your creativity in your career.
Karen joined PAYETTE in 2012 as a graphic designer and was promoted to Director of Creative Engagement in 2016. She has led several communications initiatives from the ground-up for the firm. From the outset, Karen established PAYETTE as a leader among other architecture firms with our social media strategy, leveraging many voices across the firm. As she positioned the firm in the social media sphere, Karen took on the firm’s external communications strategies and PR initiatives, such as planning outreach events, co-project managing “You Are Here: Wendy’s Welcome to the ED” and editing all written content published by PAYETTE staff. In addition to her work leveraging the firm online and in print, Karen introduced the firm to hackathons, which contributed to a successful design competition for a corporate client.
A self-identified theater geek and bibliophile, Karen discusses how she made the move from theater and non-profit life to the world of architecture and offers insight on making a mark in the professional world.
