At Payette, we leverage our in-house fabrication capabilities to build mock-ups and models as part of the design process. PBLT-15 Precision Board HDU is a staple in our material inventory for CNC-machining, used for everything from topographical models to full-scale façade studies. Our Fabrication Director, Parke MacDowell, recently spoke to Coastal Enterprises about the value of Precision Board in our practice for its easy-machining and low environmental impact. Most recently, we’ve used this product to create panels to study sound diffusion in our FabLAB.

Located along Boston’s famed Emerald Necklace designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the Klarman Building responds to the presence of this green space to create a state-of-the-art center for inpatient care and healing. In addition to extending aspects of nature into the building through orienting views and finishes, the Sky Garden allows patients, family and staff to find healing in the landscape.
