Adam Maserow recently joined the ranks of the firm’s licensed architects. Adam received his M.Arch 1 from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Today we celebrate his accomplishments.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is engaging with PAYETTE’s amazing people. There is so much experience, so many skillsets and so many different approaches to learn from.
What projects have you worked on and are currently working on?
I have mostly worked on projects for Harvard Medical School and Tulane University in New Orleans. I am currently working on the Warren Alpert Vivarium renovation and the Seeley G. Mudd Level 4 renovation at Harvard Medical School.
What is the most important thing you have learned so far?
I am most passionate about adaptive reuse architecture and have been lucky to work mostly in adaptations and renovations with PAYETTE. The most important thing I have learned, and am still learning, is the ability to design for much needed new, expanded uses while acknowledging historical conditions.
If you could take a month-long trip anywhere, where would you go and why?
I would go to West Africa. There is a set of buildings in Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal and Togo which were designed in the 60s and 70s after each country’s liberation that I would love to see in person.
