The soul of our practice resides in its people, and we are always looking for ways to cultivate emerging talent and professionals. We really enjoy our active internship program that brings multiple interns to join our team throughout the year for typically a semester at time. Today, we wanted to introduce some of our interns working alongside us this summer.
I am entering my 4th year of the Architecture program at Virginia Tech. I chose to pursue architecture because it is a conglomerate of various disciplines including math, design and science. I also love the notion that the things you design will outlast you. I specifically enjoy studying healthcare and clinical design because I’ve always been fascinated with the healing process and the things that can affect it. In my free time, I am usually learning about the environment or sketching. I also enjoy exploring the outdoors through kayaking or hiking!
I currently attend Harvard Graduate School of Design, and received my undergrad from New York University. In college, I studied planning and worked in a planning team for a while, but I realized you have to know how to plant a tree well in order to form a good, healthy forest. That’s what led me to this path, and I’ve completed my first year in the 3.5 yrs long Master of Architecture program. In my free time, I love travelling and exploring cities. During the past couple of years I’ve been to Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Singapore and New York City just last week. In the winter times I enjoy snowboarding, and Boston seems to be a perfect place for enjoying winter sports!
I received my B.Arch from Roger Williams University in 2014 and moved to New York City, where I worked at Goldstein, Hill and West Architects for two years before moving to Pei Architects where I worked for two years. This past fall I returned to school to get my Masters in Architecture and Urban Design from Washington University in St. Louis. I have always been interested in how the design of a space has the ability to shape and form the emotions or feelings of a person inside and around it. When I am not working, I am sailing with my ocean racing team based out of Newport, RI. I also enjoy cooking and eating.
I am currently Cornell University where I will be a sophomore next semester. I’m studying computer science. I originally became interested in this after taking a intro computer science class in high school and seeing the different things that can be created through coding. Joining a project team in college also made me realize that this is what I wanted to do for the future. In my free time I like to play volleyball and sing (I can’t sing).
I am currently working towards my B.Arch at Syracuse University. I chose this path because my two favorite subjects in high school were Math and Art. I have been a dancer all my life and enjoy doing anything active in my free time (i.e. hiking, biking, walking, kayaking, etc.)
