View of Phase 1: ISEB concept design from Columbus Avenue
We are thrilled to announce we have been selected by Northeastern University to begin the planning and design of the 180,000 GSF Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building. This new building will initiate University’s expansion of academic facilities across the MBTA rail lines onto a site on Columbus Avenue. This project intends to create a culture of interdisciplinary science and engineering and the architecture of the building will establish a bold presence for the University on Columbus Ave. Our vision for the design includes signature green spaces with public access and new links between the neighborhoods south of Columbus and the campus north of the rails.
The architect selection process concluded with a six week design competition, which allowed our team the opportunity to explore several different schemes and ideas for this exciting new precinct of the Northeastern campus. We explored several options and continue to work with the University to refine the design and planning for the project.
