As one of five Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence finalists, Metropolis featured our Beyond Walls Lynn Lights project which brighten the City of Lynn – one of Massachusetts’ 26 Gateway Cities with installations including murals, vintage signs and dynamic, colorful and programmable LED lighting installations.
These once-avoided areas have become vibrant landmarks in downtown Lynn, where people feel safe and welcome. PAYETTE worked with LAM partners and Port Lighting Systems on the design and installation of the lighting systems.
There is now a sustained downtown energy of visitors taking in these pieces as well as residents rediscovering their own backyard through art experiences. Ultimately, this has led to a change in public perception to view Lynn in a more favorable light.
