During a recent presentation about Newforma Mobile Apps, this email coincidentally arrived in my inbox:
My colleague was excited because the Newforma mobile app eliminated the time she would normally spend transcribing field notes and I was happy to help provide a useful productivity solution. Data wasn’t going to be entered twice, or re-written.
What will she do with the saved time? I can guess three things:
- Improve design and construction.
- Provide better service to the client.
- Reduce the risks of errors and omissions.
In short, she can do the work she entered her career to perform.
As Payette rolls out Newforma software over the coming weeks and months, I believe we’ll find many ways it will help us spend less time managing information and more time doing what we entered our career to do: Design great spaces, build them and serve clients. I’m looking forward to more similar stories of success.
