On Thursday, June 11, nine PAYETTE runners competed in the 2015 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Boston. The PAYETTE team ran in a sold-out field of 9,000 runners from 520 different companies. Maintaining tradition, the 32nd annual Boston race started on Charles Street between the Boston Common and the Public Garden. The route led runners downtown to Kenmore Square and then back to the Common. The PAYETTE runners always have a great time at the 3.5 mile race, taking in the crowd’s energy and enjoying the fast course through the historic streets of Boston. Our team had a great performance despite the hot and humid race conditions. J.P. Morgan will use the race entry fees to make a donation to the Boston Catholic Schools Foundation’s signature program, the Inner-City Scholarship Fund.
Each year, the Young Designers Core holds an internal pancake and waffle breakfast fundraiser to help offset the cost of the race for the PAYETTE Corporate Challenge Team. Hungry architects show firm-wide support for the Corporate Challenge and the PAYETTE team by providing donations at the breakfast prior to the race. This year’s breakfast was a great success, raising enough money to cover the costs of all nine PAYETTE runners.
